Things Fall Apart Take-Home Test
This take-home test has been issued to you on Friday, December 19, 2014. The test is due at the beginning of class on Monday, January 5, 2015. Please read the test carefully and ensure that you understand it. If you have questions or concerns, it is your responsibility to contact Mrs. Osazuwa prior to the due date during class, before/after school, or through email. Yes, through email: [email protected].
Choose and answer questions that can total 100 points for you. All work must be typed using the formats as indicated in your course expectations. Every response must be in complete and coherent sentences, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please, remember to indicate your names, period numbers, and dates on your papers. In addition, all question selections must be clearly marked in your responses. I do not want to have to look for which of the questions to which you responded. (I will be very strict and quite critical of your work; so please, make sure that you put in your best effort. You must justify and or substantiate every response that you provide.) If you choose, you can earn 20 points for extra credit points that you have chosen. Good luck and have fun!
1. For the following characteristics, identify instances in the novel when Okonkwo actually exhibited them. Please, make sure that you cite and explain correctly these instances. Make sure that you scan through all three parts of the novel to locate your examples. You will lose points if you only provide examples that are located from just one section of the novel.

Choose three different types of conflicts (man vs. ______), each from a different section of the novel (Part I, II, and III). Explain why Achebe includes this particular conflict to show his readers and its overall effect on the story. (15 POINTS)
