Literary Terms Winter Break Project
300 points Activity
Due Monday January 7, 2013 for A day students and Tuesday January 8 for B day students.
There are two parts to this project. Both parts must be fully completed.
Part 1
(a) List all the 23 Literary Terms that you have been taught in class and write the definitions for each of them.
(b) After writing the definitions, look for an example in your everyday life and occurrences----Maybe from movies, commercials, bill boards, magazines, news, other classes that you may have taken, eg. psychology, sociology, history, government, etc. or stories and statements that you may have heard or read in the past (other than The Great Gatsby). Write the examples down, and identify where you may have heard or read them. Please, make sure that you indicate the instances where you found them.
Part 2
The Great Gatsby
List all the literary terms again in part 2. However, you do not need to define them anymore. You have done so in Part 1. After you have listed them, find examples in the novel where you have found each of them. Write out the quote in which each appeared, and cite the chapter and page number. Write a one sentence statement on what may have been going on in that passage or quote that you gave.
Your paper should at least look like this:
